GIGS UK MULTIPLIER

This took place at Hillscourt Conference Centre, Birmingham on 15th November. The programme included presentations, workshops and practical activities. This was also an opportunity to meet all of the project partners and learn more about their contributions to the project.
Programme highlights:
‘’It’s all about how you perceive STEM. There is a misconception that STEM is just lessons but it is all around us all the time, in the real world you live in.’’ Nathan
‘’A lot of people want a job than is rewarding, and now we know that STEM jobs can be really rewarding… so before we never realised that drones could be used to help people in poverty but we do now.’’ Sabrin
‘’There have always been women involved in STEM, we need to show that to young girls to encourage them that it can be for them.’’ Jenny
‘’I didn’t realise the inequality in STEM before… I have been able to catalyse on this experience.’’ Nathan
‘’I would say to teachers that if there is something in the lesson you can be passionate about it makes the lesson more enjoyable, it (STEM) is real-life and can be applied.’’ Jenny
‘’The use of Technology is the way forward, so implementing that into teaching is a really good way of getting children to want to learn.’’ Jenny
