About Us
Practical Action is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) that uses science and technology to challenge poverty in developing countries. We help over 1 million people a year improve their lives. The education team focuses on supporting primary and secondary teachers embed global contexts into their STEM teaching in a way that engages and inspires pupils.

Team
Julie Brown and Bren Hellier are Practical Action’s education team.  Together they produce STEM resources and deliver training to both pre-service and in-service teachers. Julie has worked in both primary and secondary science education and has experience in leading an EC project.  Bren has a Design & Technology background.  Both are actively engaged in social media.

Project Involvement
Our main role is in taking the lead on Intellectual Output 1, the Global STEM challenges. We are also leading on dissemination.
